Loss Of Crores To Govt As New Facility Rented To Shift Rotting Grains
T'puram: Following an exclusive news report by Mathrubhumi News on food grains rotting in the Civil Supplies godown in Nedumangadu, it was shut down and another building was rented for the purpose. By the taking a building on rent for the new godown, the Food and Civil Supplies Department incurred a loss amounting to crores, it is learned. It is alleged that the losses were caused by the employees who wanted to cover up the irregularities in the purchase of rice and other financial malpractices. Meanwhile, the workers with the godown in Pulippara are starving ever since the state-wide lockdown began.
