HC Stays Handing Over Poonthanam Jnanappana Award To Poet Prabha Varma
Kochi: The Kerala High Court stayed the Guruvayur Devaswom Board's move to hand over Poonthanam Jnanappana award to Prabha Varma, a poet and the Press Advisor to the Chief Minister. The HC asked the Board whether the honour must be awarded to the one who describes Lord Krishna or to the interpreter who finds Lord Krishna as an accused. Though the Board told the Court that the award was not given for a particular work but for lifetime contribution to literature.
