No-Confidence Motion Defeated At Kerala Assembly; Voting Procedures At A Glance

T'puram: The no-confidence motion moved by the UDF against the LDF government, led by Pinarayi Vijayan, was defeated at the Kerala Legislative Assembly. The motion was not passed as it secured only 40 votes as 87 votes were against it. Three legislators abstained from voting. Instead of a ballot or EVM, an open headcount method was adopted to decide the winner. The assembly was adjourned for an indefinite period after the Speaker wished the legislators a happy Onam.
