Sabarimala: DGP To Review Lapses On Part Of Police
T'puram: DGP Lokanath Behera stated that any lapses on the part of police in Sabarimala issue will be examined. He was addressing the media amidst the criticism against police over women's entry into the temple. “The action taken by police will be reviewed when the temple is closed. The security arrangements for the coming pilgrimage season of Mandalakalam will be arranged after the review. I think this is a herculean task for police,” stated the DGP. He added that the most efficient higher officials were assigned to handle the situation at the temple. The DGP said that lapses in the part of the police will be examined when the temple closes. Police action in Sabarimala will be reviewed only when the police personnel return from Sabarimala after duty. The police were criticised for providing security for the young women devotees including activists.
